Working with NGOs

PSE on REM «Almaty Regional Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS» signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and works with non-governmental organizations in the Almaty region Public Funds: «Trust Plus», «Revenge Social Assistance Fund», in Taldykorgan Public Associations: «Amelia», «Kos rope Zhetysu».

The main areas of cooperation with NGO «Trust Plus»:

- Ensuring access to quality prevention, detection and diagnosis for people living with HIV (PLHIV);

- Ensuring adherence to continuous treatment for people living with HIV (PLHIV);

- Reduction of stigma and discrimination due to the disease for people living with HIV (PLHIV);

- Building a partnership for effective work with HIV/hepatitis for people living with HIV (PLHIV);

- Advocacy, communication and social mobilization on HIV/hepatitis, HIV/AIDS in the region/region.

NGO Responsibility:

1) Provide counseling for PLHIV and their immediate environment on:

• before/after HIV testing, including NGO-based testing
• status disclosure and living with HIV
• Treatment and adherence to ART
• safe sex and family planning
• prevention of infection and spread of HIV
• PRT
• Hepatitis, tuberculosis, STIs
• social adaptation.
• Provide comprehensive support to PLHIV and their immediate environment to receive medical services with the informed consent of clients.
• Inform and motivate sexual and injecting partners of PLHIV to undergo HIV testing on the basis of NGOs.
• Train PLHIV in conducting rapid HIV testing among their sexual and injecting partners. In the case of a positive test result, conduct counseling to form motivation to start treatment.
• 5) Search and locate PLHIV who have “dropped out” of dispensary observation, as well as PLHIV with low adherence to treatment. Together with members of the multidisciplinary team (medical worker, psychologist, social worker), regularly work with this category of PLHIV to increase their motivation to start / resume and adherence to ART, dispensary observation.
• Accompany PLHIV in order to undergo dispensary observation (examination, examination, receiving drugs) and maintain constant contact with the client to form adherence to dispensary observation and treatment.
• Together with members of the multidisciplinary team, monitor the adherence of project clients to ART.
• Participate and/or run self-help groups.
• Actively participate in the organization of large-scale actions held within the framework of the project, etc.

The purpose of cooperation with the NGO «Amelia» is the prevention and fight against AIDS among socially vulnerable segments of the population, in institutions of the penitentiary system, among employees of organizations engaged in entrepreneurial activities, etc.

The main subject of the Memorandum concluded with the PF «Revanche Social Protection Fund» is cooperation in the field of prevention, testing and treatment of TB / HIV / AIDS, consultation on COVID-19 issues. Also:

• to assist in the implementation of preventive measures for PLHIV, together with the PF «Revenge» (psychological, the formation of adherence to ARVT).
• if necessary, provide advice to PLHIV and their relatives.

The main direction of cooperation with the NGO «Kos Kanat Zhetysu» is to promote the creation of joint projects for conducting an information campaign among young people aimed at preventing HIV / AIDS. Also cooperate in the development and implementation of programs for the prevention of HIV infection in order to increase the level of knowledge in the field of prevention and modern treatment of HIV infection and coinfections among the population.
